I’m always learning lol.A 'dramatization' of what 4K HDR looks like through the new Apple TV 4K. I’m willing to hear from any others on this topic. I’m assuming the metadata switch from playing an Atmos track via disc vs playing a MKV file with the same track via the Plex app has thrown off the Sonos application (and sound badges that display). I’ve verified that the MKV has the Atmos track by using Mediainfo (thanks to the other commenter for posting about that).Īs a summary of what I’ve read here, I have a few questions for the Plex/Home Theater crowd:Īre Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and Atmos lossless codecs one in the same? Instead the Sonos app displays “Dolby TrueHD 7.1” when watching my Atmos track movie files. Now that I’m entering the Plex world and ripping my discs to the MKV files, the Atmos logo no longer shows in app when playing a movie via Plex. All Atmos content will show as “Dolby Atmos” in my Sonos Application. Panasonic UB820 that plays Dolby Vision & Atmos content flawlessly to my display and Sonos up to this point. LG CX (Plex App) original full quality streaming via Ethernet on local network. My Sonos Beam Gen 2 will display “Dolby Atmos” in the app when I’ve played 4KUHD discs with my UB820 (hooked up through eARC on my TV). I found this post after doing some research on my Sonos setup.
